December 21, 2012 – Grief and the Holidays

Below is a link to a great blog post by Greg Laurie about dealing with grief during the holidays. Many people experience sadness during the Christmas season, but if you have lost a loved one, that sadness can be extremely intensified. When Hannah died unexpectedly on November 1st, we quickly had to go through her birthday (December 1st), Thanksgiving and Christmas. The holiday season is very hard without Hannah, and many people think “but it’s been two years”, while in actuality it has ONLY been two years. Time doesn’t lessen the grief, but it does bring us closer to that great heavenly reunion that we are looking forward to. Toward the end of the blog Greg Laurie gives an answer to those looking for a book to help them through this, his reply “You don’t need a manual, you need Immanuel!”

Praying for all who have lost a loved one, for your comfort, peace and strength and for you to feel the love of our Savior Jesus Christ.

Maranatha!
