For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Romans 8:24-25

10 Years

Thank you Lord Jesus for carrying us through this past 10 years.  Through all the pain, struggles, suffering and hard times, we live for You and You alone.  We love You more and more each day and can not wait to see You face to face and spend eternity with You!

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. 15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

September 5th, 2011 – Encouragement

Two of the most encouraging passages in the entire Bible for us, we weren’t really aware of prior to Hannah’s death and now they are such a reminder of God’s goodness and protection – the beginning and end of Job:

Job 1:1-3

1There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job, and that man was blameless and upright, one who feared God and turned away from evil. 2There were born to him seven sons and three daughters. 3He possessed 7,000 sheep, 3,000 camels, 500 yoke of oxen, and 500 female donkeys, and very many servants, so that this man was the greatest of all the people of the east.

Job 42:12-13

12And the LORD blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning. And he had 14,000 sheep, 6,000 camels, 1,000 yoke of oxen, and 1,000 female donkeys. 13He had also seven sons and three daughters.

At first glance, it looks like the Lord made a mistake and did not bless Job completely!  He doubled the amount of sheep, camels, oxen and donkeys but forgot to double the children!

Why is that and How could this be?

Because his original children are still alive with Him in Heaven!!!  He didn’t forget or make a mistake!  They are alive!  With God!

He did double them – seven sons and three daughters on earth and seven sons and three daughters in Heaven!  And now many Earth years later while basking in the glory of Heaven, Job is spending eternity with all of his children - a total of 14 sons and 6 daughters!  Double what he originally had!

For those of us who have lost children, this is everything!  It gives us strength, it gives us a real perspective on life and it gives us Hope!

Praise be to the Lord!
