January 23, 2012 – HIStory

This morning as I was cleaning out an old purse that had been in the closet for a while I came across a little bracelet that either Hannah or Jacob had made from beads and leather.  The colorful beads formed a bible verse 2 Cor 5:15 which reads “And He died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for Him who died for them and was raised again.”  It never ceases to amaze me how God continues to send these gentle little reminders when my focus begins to stray.  Whether it be through a sermon, song or something like this sweet little bracelet at the bottom of a forgotten bag, I’m continually reminded where my focus has to be.

I’m sure you’ve heard or seen history written as HIStory – this is HIS story, not mine, not yours…but HIS.  I know that I feel blessed that He has chosen me to be a part of His story, and I long for the day we look back on history and wonder why we ever worried or questioned or cried our eyes out…because it is all leading up to one glorious eternal story that will never end.  This life will end, but the next one will not.  I don’t know about you, but I’m so ready for the next chapter.  I have to slow down again and again and remember that this is His story and I’m a part of it…and the next chapter will begin when He is ready and not simply because I am.  I know as long as I remain in this life, God has a plan for me and I will continue to live and labor for Him.  Even so, my prayer remains “Come soon Lord Jesus!”

Where are you in HIStory?  Are you ready for the next chapter?

In Him,

Amy
