August 6, 2014 – Bracelet

Many people who have lost a child (or another loved one) become passionate about fighting the cause that took their loved one from them…it could be cancer, food allergies, texting and driving, drugs, the list goes on and on.  These are all great things to fight against and/or bring awareness to which is admirable and much needed.

Our primary focus after the death of Hannah has been on the life saving relationship with Jesus and our eternity with Him!  In honor of Hannah’s life and a reminder to everyone who knew her here on Earth, we created a special bracelet that we feel she would like while providing a daily reminder that Hannah is with Jesus and one day we will be reunited with her in Heaven!

Shown below are pictures of the bracelet.  If anyone would like one, please email us at thehopeofhannah@gmail.com and we will get one to you free of charge.  We appreciate your support of our family and our ongoing ministry!

July 15, 2014 – Happy Birthday Jacob!

Today we celebrate Jacob’s 10th birthday. It’s hard to believe that it has been a decade since this amazing little man was born. He has been through more in his brief 10 years than most people have in a lifetime, and we are so proud of the young man that he has become. Happy Birthday Jacob, we love you so much!

July 13, 2014 – ‘It’s Tough To Live Without Hope’

The lead story on the front page of the Dallas Morning News this morning heralded this headline ‘It’s tough to live without hope’.  The story is about the border crisis, but it applies to everyone…anyone, anywhere at anytime.  Without Jesus Christ we are all ‘hopeless’ and there is nothing that will fill the void – not money, power, possessions, people or anything else.  Yes, it’s tough to live without hope, but you don’t have to.  There is a hope that is eternal…life may be hard here, but once you accept Jesus as your savior He will never leave you and after this short life, there is an eternity with Him awaiting!

Where is your hope?

Everything rides on hope now!

July 11, 2014 – The Reason For The Hope That Is In You

This past week was VBS at our church.  The verse for the week was 1 Peter 3:15 but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you.

We had a great group of 3rd graders, and it was a wonderful week.  One of the girls brought her sweet friend Hannah who was with us during the week.  On the last night, an older girl came over to talk to Hannah and as she walked away I saw her name tag….Hope.  Hannah told me that her sister Hope was just looking for their brother Jacob.  I smiled, and thought of how the Lord can always reminds me in such amazing ways of the hope that I hold on to.  I am so grateful to serve a God who is even in the smallest of details, He never leaves us, is always encouraging us and He is coming back again!

Thankful for a sweet reminder of the Hope we have and of our own sweet Hannah, who we will see again soon.

Our hope is in Jesus Christ alone!

April 20, 2014 – He is risen!

Today, as we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we are reminded of His promise of our resurrection and of eternal life spent with Him.  This is the day to celebrate the reason for our Hope.  As was so well put in the sermon this morning from Pastor Kris Segrest of FBC Wylie/Friendship Baptist Church….The risen Christ changes everything!!!  Looking forward to the day we see Him face to face, and get to be with our sweet Hannah again!

He is risen!  He is alive!  He is coming again!

March 21, 2014 – The Forgotten

Families that lose a child or a key member of their family are often neglected after the initial rush of the funeral, meals provided, etc.  The rest of the world moves on and expects the family to do likewise.  And then the social circles around the family change due to the loss and the grieving family moves farther and farther away.
We are committed to pray for these “forgotten” families going through what we did with the loss of our sweet girl Hannah and will continue to do so until our lives here on Earth are up!
Listed below are families that need prayer!  Some of them we know personally and some we have heard about their loss and circumstances.
Our prayer to our Father God, Lord Jesus and Holy Spirit is that ALL of the people affected and impacted by their real loss lean on and run towards Jesus for comfort, guidance and peace for their remaining lives here on earth and believe in Him and his promises for the future!
We miss Hannah with every part of our lives but we cling to and hold onto the rock solid promises of Jesus for eternal life and to be reunited with our blue eyed beauty forever!
Praise be to Jesus for what you have done for us!
Here are the families that we know of in our lives.  Please include others that you know of in your lives!
Prayer is real, important and will make a difference in their lives!

March 2, 2014 – Blessed

So often I get bogged down in this world, it’s always when my focus veers from God Almighty, and I start to worry about all that is going on here and now.  My whole attitude changes so dramatically when my focus is not solidly on Jesus.  We are not promised that our lives will be all “blessings” here (at least not the way that most “#blessed cultural Christians of this current world” talk about or flaunt their blessings), but we are promised that we will be blessed when we persevere the trials we face here, and that there is a crown of life waiting for us.  Soon, there is coming a day…when once and for all, everything will be set right and we will dwell with our Lord forever!

For all of you who are going through fiery trials and are struggling just to make it through each day, remember that Jesus Himself suffered and died for each of us, and that He has gone to prepare a place for us…where our blessings will not be momentary, they will last for eternity!!!

Praying for so many right now who are dealing with the loss of a loved one, health issues and various other struggles.  If you would like for us to pray for you, please email us and know that we will be praying.

In Him!

Amy

December 18, 2013 – HOPE

1 Thessalonians 4:13- 18 is one of our favorite passages in the Bible.  It goes on to read “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.  Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord.  Therefore comfort one another with these words.”

These words are of great comfort to us, and as we are told in the Bible we need to comfort one another with these words.  Our hope is in Jesus and an eternity with Him and with Hannah.

Thank you Jesus for this promise!
